Introduction
Anantha Charitable Trust was established in September 2014 and registered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.
The Trust aims to promote sustainability. We believe that the way we humans lead our lives needs to be more sensitive and conscious about various sections of our society, and also, about the natural environment that surrounds us all.
More specifically, the Trust wants to focus on the area of safe food and sustainable farming that impacts all of us.
Given the current food system in India and the rest of the world, we believe that when consumers across the country consciously choose safe, chemical-free, organic, whole foods, the food system comprising the farmers, traders, wholesalers and retailers, aside from regulatory bodies and government policies, will choose to promote organic food and farming.
This will lead to better health of farmers and families alike, lower contamination of our soil, air and water, aside from decreasing the use of water in farming. Further, the food heritage of India, comprising 100s of varieties of grains, be it rice, or wheats or millets, can be preserved by choosing a more conscious way to farm and eat.
Towards this end, Anantha Charitable Trust will work to spread awareness among consumers about safe food, while encouraging farmers to choose organic farming practices.
May the world see safe food, good health and sustainable farms all around!
